The Polar Express rolls into The Cabot every holiday season, bringing joy to hundreds of families.
This beloved tradition started in 2017 when Josie and Rich Marino partnered with The Cabot to create a special event in memory of their daughter, Isabella Rose Marino, who passed away unexpectedly at just 4 ½ years old. The Polar Express event was inspired by Bella’s joyful spirit and a wish to create magical moments for children in our community.

With the blessing of Chris Van Allsburg, the beloved author and local resident behind The Polar Express, our event has become a cherished North Shore tradition. Children arrive in their pajamas, greeted by volunteers dressed as train conductors who offer milk, cookies, and a BELIEVE ticket—just like in the movie! The festivities include games, a special visit from Santa, and, of course, a screening of The Polar Express on The Cabot’s big screen. As the movie ends, snow falls in the theater, and children dance in the aisles, creating memories that last a lifetime.
